This will be the fifth annual running of the Night of the Dead Run. We are pleased to bring this event back bigger and better than it was in 2017. As this will be a night run, our waves will start at 8 p.m. and go out every 15 minutes until our final wave at 9 p.m. Our obstacles will be lit in a variety of ways, and we will have special effect lighting along with music throughout the various sections of the course.
Once October comes, the woods transform into a scary, ghostly, eerie place. Once you enter there is no turning back. The unnatural sounds are enough to keep you running. As you near the banks of the river beware of the Black Swamp creatures, but UNLIKE a Zombie run there will be NO ONE CHASING you. You won't need chasing as there will be plenty of activity to scare you. Once again we want you to enjoy all that the course has to offer, take your time we will will not be timing this event.

As for our course we believe that you sign up for an obstacle/mud run for the Obstacles and the Mud or you would just sign up for any old run. Our course consists of 3.2 miles and 26, yes that's right 26 obstacles, not counting the obstacle of the natural terrain. Although we have water, mud, and muck none of it is deep. There is NO swimming and we DO NOT allow diving of any kind.
The big difference in our course is that for most obstacles, you can choose your own challenge. Here you can choose how far you want to push yourself. Our obstacles have a normal side and an Extreme side. If you're the Extreme athlete looking to push your limits, or you're the first timer just looking to get off the couch and trying something new, this is the course for you. All participants receive a Race Jersey, custom medal, 1 free refreshment, and a lot of Black Swamp Mud to take home.

Once done if you choose not to take home all the mud on you, we have dozens of wash stations. There will be live music, Food and ,drinks.
We also have a Night of the Dead Backdrop for that perfect photo to remember the fun. Make it a weekend and rent a campsite from the Ottawa County Fair Grounds located just feet from the course.
