We are thrilled to announce our plan for a 2024 event this August!
We have been working with officials from the City of Springfield and Wittenberg University to put together a course that will highlight many of the great things that Springfield has to offer. As we continue to grow, this will allow us to organize bigger and better races. Most importantly, this will help us continue to increase our ability to make a positive impact in our community by benefiting the Springfield Cancer Center.

The idea for our race comes from family members running the 13.1 mile course from Springfield to Yellow Springs to train for a full-marathon in which they would be raising money to help cover the cost of cancer treatment for Mike Maloney, father of Co-Director Alex Maloney. The first official Happy Half Marathon was held in 2012. Our race brings together 300+ runners from all over to support our cause and give them a chance to achieve their fitness goals.
